Embryonic Stem Cells - a brief history

?Square Peg vs. Round Hole

Trying to make Embryonic stem cells work (zero diseases successfully treated to date) when Adult stem cells already work and are readily available (over 70 diseases successfully treated to date) is like trying to force a square peg through a round hole.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not that it can't work, it can. Here are a few methods to make Embryonic stem cells work. We call this one "Brute Force". Just keep banging away at it and eventually something will break or fit...or both.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Method two relies on gross genetic manipulation. Change enough of the characteristics on a genetic level and you can even make a watermelon grow square...or a mouse into an elephant for that matter.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But tell me this. Why go through all the effort if you have a better, more effective, less offensive, more available option. Why keep trying to force a square peg through a round hole?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

By the way, the image directly above is from this site. Do you think they might be on to something? Hmmm....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Choose Adult stem cells; choose the round peg for the round hole.
