In August, I posted the
story about Savannah Watring, 8, from Missouri, who suffers from Optic Nerve Hypoplasia. At the time, she was in China for her stem cell therapy and blind since birth, the ADULT stem cell treatment helped almost immediately while she was still in China.
Now, they have updated the story on how she is doing and there is even a very cool video on Savannah too. I am very happy to present it here:
An 8-year-old Missouri girl who'd never seen the faces of the people who love her can now see thanks to stem cell treatments.Doctors said it would be three to six months before they would see any change, but after her fourth treatment, something amazing happened in an elevator."When Savannah was facing the mirror, she said, 'hi.' Brent looked at me and I looked at Brent. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry," Watring said."It was like, one day she was not seeing anything, and the next day she was seeing the letter E and which way the legs went," Savannah's aunt Shonna Millsap said. While, she doesn't always get every letter and shape right, her family believes the improvement is nothing short of a miracle."I'm not a bit sorry. I'd do it all over again. It might plateau over the next few months, and if we need to go back, we will," Watring said.Click here for the story and Optic Nerve Hypoplasia video starring Savannah Watring For more information on this
